The Shanghai Composite Index fell for the second day, dropping 0.6 percent, or 19.81 to 3,234.82 in Shanghai. The index dropped to the lowest closing level since July 28. Industrial & Commercial Bank of China Ltd. contributed the most to the index decline, decreasing 0.6 percent. Wintime Energy Co. had the largest drop, falling 10.2 percent. Today, 1,257 of 1,497 shares fell, while 228 rose; 4 of 5 sectors were lower, led by industrial stocks.

TSMC’s August sales is 122.88 billion Taiwan dollars, a YOY increase of 15.8%. From January to August, cumulative sales is 850.14 billion Taiwan dollars, a YOY increase of 30.7%.
Baidu Apollo announced that it will officially open its self-driving taxi service in Beijing, with a total of 40 Robo-taxis launched. Beijing users can book an experience on the Baidu map and Apollo official website.
China Association of Automobile Manufactures: China produced 2.119 million vehicles in August, an increase of 6.3% year-on-year; August sales of new energy vehicles were 0.106 million vehicles, a year-on-year increase of 17.7%; August sales of passenger vehicles increased 6% year-on-year to 1.755 million.
